@Jack loves tweetstorms, changing the fundamental nature of Twitter.

According to Kurt Wagner over at Re/Code, Twitter is reportedly mulling a new feature that would allow users to tweet 9,860 more characters than the service’s trademark 140; he also reported that the company is potentially targeting a launch “toward the end of Q1.” After the announcement, the value of the company’s stock dropped by nearly 3 percent on Tuesday, The Guardian reported

In what appears to be an effort to bolster the value of Twitter’s stock, CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted a short statement defending the company’s plans for new features. (Which presumably are intended to compete with Facebook’s domination of the social internet.)
