Donald Trump’s campaign has spent more on hats than you make in a year. Probably two years.

End-of-year FEC filings are out, and we now know how much candidates spend on their campaign efforts, and on what. Trump’s fourth quarter filings were some of the most surprising of all, if you discount the sad $500,000 loan Martin O’Malley took out to keep his campaign on life support. But back to Trump: the man spent more than $400,000 on hats, an amount of money that will not trickle through my bank account for many years.
