I’ve been on the verge of buying a new Apple Mac Air for a few weeks, but I’m worried about reports of bugs in the computer’s Wi-Fi, which causes it to lose connections. Previously, I had been complaining about an iPhone 4s that needed recharging every 10 hours or so, even though I am not a heavy cellphone user. My friend Larry, who follows tech companies much more closely than I do, sent me this chart of the worl’d top 50 companies in R&D investment. I would have expected Apple, which is the world’s richest or second richest company, and has prided itself on its innovative technology, to be near the top. Can you find it?
