Speaking to the manic chipmunks of Fox and Friends, Donald Trump sent mixed messages about his ISIS strategy. On one hand, he said “he would do my best, my absolute best” to avoid civilian casualties. On the other hand, Trump said the only way to defeat the terrorist network is to go after civilians. “The other thing with terrorists—you have to take out their families. When you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families. They care about their lives—don’t kid yourself. But they say they don’t care about their lives. You have to take out their families.” Trump continues to regularly claim that he is the “most militaristic” person in the 2016 campaign—and, occasionally, in the world. He just may be right.
