Get excited for season 6 of Game of Thrones by re-watching all of your favorite characters die.

(Spoilers, sort of.) There’s no new footage in the first teaser trailer for the new season, which follows the first teaser poster that featured everyone’s favorite dead-but-not-dead character, Jon Snow. Instead, we’re treated to a montage of the gruesome ends of the show’s most beloved characters: Snow, Ned Stark, Robb Stark, Jaime Lannister’s good hand, uh, Joffrey.

What is new is the dialogue, which is predominantly narrated by Max Von Sydow, who is perfectly cast as the three-eyed raven and was also in The Seventh Seal (!). “We watch, we listen, and we remember. The past is already written. The ink is dry,” he intones, sounding a bit like Christopher Lee reading William Faulkner’s bit about the past not even being past. The final line of the trailer belongs to Bran Stark, who’s back after spending last season time-traveling with the three-eyed raven: “They have no idea what’s going to happen.” Spooky!
