Poor Matthew Riggins of Palm Bay, Florida. The 22-year-old was suspected of burglarizing homes in Barefoot Bay in November, Reuters reports. With police chasing him, he apparently hid in a lake—where he became a tasty morsel for an 11-foot alligator.

Riggins’s body was found 10 days later floating in the water, Reuters reports, “with an aggressive gator standing guard.”

What a way to go.
