Democratic presidential candidate scandals: They’re not just for Hillary anymore!

The Bernie Sanders campaign improperly accessed confidential data on voters gathered by the Clinton’s campaign, according to the DNC. That’s prompted the Democratic National Committee to cut off Bernie’s access to the party’s voter file—a crucial list of likely Democratic voters—just a few weeks before the first primary.

Candidates supplement that master list with their own data, and Sanders blames a security glitch by NGP VAN, the vendor handling DNC’s voter file, for the problem. Sanders claims the campaign was simply investigating the scope of his own exposure after the firewall between candidates’ data briefly went down, according to BuzzFeed. One Bernie staffer has been fired. Depending on how long it lasts, the DNC’s punishment could be a crippling blow to Bernieland.
