Donald Trump is a Ted Cruz birther and it’s fantastic.

Is the Canadian-born Cruz even eligible to run for president? Probably, but maybe not! Sure, his mother was an American citizen at the time of his birth, but it’s not 100 percent clear that makes him a “natural born citizen” since the issue has never been settled by the Supreme Court. “It’s a problem for him, and it’s a problem obviously for the Republicans,” Trump said this morning, showing his genuine concern for the fate of Cruz’s candidacy. “I like Ted a lot. I’d love to see him get it straightened out.”

Other conservative voices have chimed in.

Will Trump, the most famous of the Barack Obama birthers, hurt Cruz’s candidacy with his innuendo? Will he start demanding Cruz’s Consular Report of Birth Abroad, as he did President Obama’s birth certificate? Could this crazy primary campaign get even crazier? We are hoping the answer to all these questions is yes.
