Ben of Ben & Jerry’s wants to make a Bernie Sanders flavor that is a metaphor for smashing the elite.

During an interview yesterday with MSNBC, Ben Cohen brainstormed a delectable-sounding pint in support of Sanders that literally involves smashing a top layer of chocolate and redistributing it with a bottom layer of mint ice cream to make mint chocolate chip. (Start at the 3:45 mark.) How’s that for a revolution?

This isn’t the first time Cohen has used a media spot to pitch a flavor heavy on political metaphor. Soon after Sanders announced his candidacy, the ice cream developer appeared on CNN and introduced the idea for “Bernie’s Rebellion,” a flavor with chocolate pieces in the shape of a mortar board, to symbolize Sanders’s support for free college, and an equal number of fancy pecans and ordinary peanuts to represent the fight for income equality.
