The suspect in a Philadelphia police shooting reportedly pledged allegiance to ISIS.

The suspect, who allegedly shot Officer Jesse Hartnett Thursday night, also later told detectives he had done it “in the name of Islam,” according to Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross Jr. Hartnett, who is in critical but stable condition, was able to shoot back and wound the suspect. The shooting was “unprovoked,” Ross said, adding, “This guy tried to execute the police officer. The police officer had no idea he was coming.” The following image was released by the police:
