This clip from the undercard debate shows just how out of touch the GOP is on gun control.

When asked by moderator Trish Regan about polling data that shows that the majority of Americans support expanded background checks, the audience booed. That isn’t particularly notable, but Santorum’s response to that question is telling: Acknowledging the crowd, he said, “Not in this room.” The message is clear: Santorum, and the Republican Party in general, aren’t interested in being in the political mainstream on gun control.
