Brian Bedford, the voice of Disney’s Robin Hood, has died.

There have been many, many Robin Hoods over the years, but none can compare to Disney’s 1973 animated classic that cast the famous outlaw as a fox, voiced by Bedford. A Tony winner—and seven-time nominee—who spent most of his time on the British stage, his Robin Hood was funny, kind, cool, and sexy, his voice changing with every funny disguise he donned to dupe Prince John. Who could forget him as the female fortune teller? Or dressed up as a stork? (It takes real skill to win an archery contest on stilts.)

And of course, we’ll never forget Robin Hood and Little John walking through the forest.
