Who is pranking Jeb’s sad campaign?

The Des Moines Register reports that someone in Iowa’s capital is passing out slips of paper “reading ‘$$$ Earn fast cash today! $$$’ and an offer for $25 an hour to attend Jeb Bush’s final campaign event at the Embassy Suites in downtown Des Moines.”

Here’s the thing though: the offer looks like it’s a hoax. The Register reports that the Bush campaign “quickly shot down the claim, calling it shenanigans on the part of a rival.” That hasn’t stopped it from causing trouble, however: Two men disrupted Bush’s rally today to demand payment for their time. They were promptly removed by the campaign and every other plant was asked to move.

If we take the Jeb! campaign’s denial at face value, this prompts the question: Who is pranking Bush? Jeff Sadosky, who works with a super PAC affiliated with Marco Rubio, said that his organization wasn’t involved. Donald Trump has been the Nelson Muntz to Jeb’s Milhouse Van Houten for months, but this doesn’t seem like his style. Could it be a super PAC (or a rogue agent) affiliated with one of the other establishment candidates? Some teens up to no good? Or have the Impractial Jokers finally decided to decamp from that weird mall in Staten Island and take on bigger fish?
