It was clear from the beginning that O’Malley never had enough supporters to remain viable in the Democratic primary, and was even clearer on Monday night as he drew less than 1 percent in the Iowa caucuses. Nonetheless, there’s a downbeat note in the news that the candidate is expected to announce shortly that he’s suspending his campaign.
