Hillary calls the Sanders campaign’s attacks on her Wall Street ties an “artful smear.”

Throughout the first section of the debate, Clinton looked upset and blatantly annoyed that she had to prove her progressive credentials and rebut claims she’s beholden to the financial industry.

After several back-and-forths with Sanders, Clinton had had enough. “Time and time again, by innuendo, by insinuation, there is this attack that he is putting forth which really comes down to anybody who ever took donations or speaking fees from any interest group has to be bought. I just absolutely reject that senator. I don’t think these kinds of attacks by insinuation are worthy of you,” Clinton said. “I think it’s time to end the very artful smear that you and your campaign have been carrying out.”

The crowd booed loudly, though it was unclear whether it was in response to Sanders’s “artful smear” or Clinton’s condemnation.
