Vladimir Putin and George W. Bush chatted in Beijing, cordially and a little bit disembodied from the world, the real world. Putin sent Russian troops into an independent country, the Republic of Georgia, another of his forays into reconstructing what we call "the former Soviet Union."
Does anyone among fear that the Cold War is not really over? And, if it's not, for what would Russia be warring? Raw power perhaps, at the expense of its neighbors.
