On the economic front, at least, McCain seems to have come in with a simple mantra, and he's making it clear.
(The amount of spending he could plausibly cut--especially with a Democratic Congress--is very unlikely to have a real impact on the economy, of course. His past vows to balance the budget in a few years are a joke.)
