I was worried that my daughter in San Francisco wouldn't vote--there isn't much question, after all, which candidate is going to carry California--but she reassurred me that there is a path-breaking referendum that is driving San Franciscans to the polls. Proposition R would change the name of the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant to the George W. Bush Sewage Plant.
