A Senate source tells me that the Senate is preparing for a brief debate followed by a vote, probably tomorrow, on Chris Hill's nomination to be ambassador to Iraq. It appears that Sam Brownback has folded, John McCain too, and Baghdad won't be without a US ambassador much longer.
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved Hill's nomination earlier today.
