Despite what I was told yesterday, it looks like Obama's pick for Iraq ambassador is not yet in the clear. Senate Democratic leaders made a procedural gambit that seems to have been a bluff to force the GOP's hand, and a source misinterpreted it. Brownback's wrench remains wedged in the gears. And with ominous new trouble brewing in the country, Baghdad still has no US ambassador.
