About This Far

Still an unsolid customer,

piddler, careless among

sassafrass, lupine

and other ditch life on summer days

I set my bare feet among

to let the progesteronic heat

swallow my mind

as the sun itself etc in this preview

or what is it I am saying

will someday

those others to come in their turn

as when the speedy car

veers and goes

out of control, whipping us

into eternity where ox-eye daisies and blue asters burn.
