Tom Hiddleston shows off his Southern accent and his singing voice in the trailer for his new Hank Williams biopic, I Saw the Light.

After months of waiting, the trailer for Hiddleston’s latest vehicle is finally available. I Saw the Light was originally slated for a prime Oscar release of November 28, but the studio moved it to a less competitive date in March.

Hiddleston, best known as Loki from The Avengers, sheds his air of British gentility for a cowboy hat and twang as legendary country singer Hank Williams. If this trailer is anything to go by, the movie focuses on his numerous problems with alcoholism and drug addition, as well as his tumultuous relationship with his wife, manager, and duet partner, Audrey (Elizabeth Olsen). Olsen and Hiddleston are said to be dating in real life, so expect the sparks to fly onscreen as well.
