The Chris Christie backlash continues.

In an editorial published February 29, the New Hampshire Union Leader, a Manchester-based newspaper, said they made a big mistake in endorsing Chris Christie in November. At the time, the newspaper “thought [Christie] had the best chance to take on and face down Donald Trump.” But after the New Jersey Governor endorsed Donald Trump last week, the New Hampshire Union Leader changed its mind.

“Boy, were we wrong,” wrote editor Josheph W. McQuaid. “Watching Christie kiss the Donald’s ring this weekend—and make excuses for the man Christie himself had said was unfit for the presidency—demonstrated how wrong we were. Rather than standing up to the bully, Christie bent his knee. In doing so, he rejected the very principles of his campaign that attracted our support.”

Since Christie’s awkward, and shocking, endorsement of Trump last week, prominent supporters and former members of his campaign have condemned the New Jersey Governor. According to the Union Leader, Christie had told the paper he would never endorse Trump.
