Robert Gates wants the Saudis to use their influence in Pakistan to stabilize the situation there. We're also counting on them in Lebanon, and most anywhere else that Iran is trying to exert influence. The Machiavellian Prince Bandar may be out of sight but perhaps not out of mind.
