Robert Capa

Robert Capa was a Hungarian war photographer and photo journalist, arguably the greatest combat and adventure photographer in history. He changed war photography forever by insisting that good photos had to be taken in the trenches, with the soldiers. His famous saying, “If your pictures aren’t good enough, then you aren’t close enough.”  1947 joined with the photographers Henri Cartier-Bresson and David (“Chim”) Seymour to found Magnum Photos. In 1954 was killed on assignment covering the war in Indochina by stepping on a land mine. His death confirmed his reputation as a fearless photojournalist.
