David Conrad-Pérez is Research Director at the Center for Media & Social Impact and Co-Director of the Documentary Power Research Institute at American University’s School of Communication, where he leads programs in documentary and journalism. A historian and former journalist, he is the author of Fire in the Heart of the City: The Triangle Shirtwaist Tragedy and the Origins of Modern Charity, forthcoming from NYU Press in 2026.
