John Frederick Martin

John Frederick Martin worked in government and on presidential campaigns from 1979 to 1988, as special assistant to Vice President Mondale, speech writer in the Mondale-Ferraro campaign, regional policy adviser to Governor Mario Cuomo, and national campaign manager for Senate Al Gore in his first presidential campaign. He received his Ph.D. in history from Harvard University, and is the author of Profits in the Wilderness: Entrepreneurship and the Founding of New England Towns in the Seventeenth Century, and Civil Rights and the Crisis of Liberalism: The Democratic Party, 1945-1976.  Martin is currently managing partner of Bancroft Private Equity in Vienna, Austria.
